Sporting Goods Store
This 3D Environment was created for machine learning and generating crowd simulation data for an internal team @ Microsoft.
The goal for this scene was to create an environment similar to an REI or sporting goods store where we could have characters walking around in.
View looking into the main store area, gray cube and man were placed for scale reference.
Starting with the shell, I modeled and textured the walls and main structures.
I used Substance Painter and Designer to create wood and various metal materials for the shell.
After the shell was in place, I kitbashed many of the other assets into the scene to make it look like a Sporting goods store.
Lighting was done in 3 passes, an initial base lighting, then I created 2 other variations with different lights turned on and off, this helped created different lighting and time of day scenarios for data creation.
The image above displays some of the Sports store creation progression and the layout from top down.
This was heavily optimized for crowd simulations so I designed it with large empty areas for characters to walk around in.
