Construction scene.
This construction scene is a digital twin of a lidar scanned environment.
It was used for various machine learning projects and data creation for an internal team @ Microsoft.
I had the privelage to work on this with another very talented collegue who created some of the props that are scattered throughout the scene.
I was responsible for:
- The scene layout and matching the lidar data with the digitized scene.
- The modeling and texturing of the "shell": (floors, ceiling, walls, metal beams, windows, electrical outlets, air ducts)
- The modeling and texturing of the scissor lift.
- The ligting.
- Some of the data creation and scene setup and optimization for rendering.
3D Characters with animation were added to the scene for people tracking data later down the pipeline.
Construction scene wire frames.
I broke up the lidar scans into small workable chunks.
Doing this made it easier to model with and match each section accurately.
Once a chunk is matching the lidar scan, it can be added to the overall scene.
An example of this can be seen in the image above.
